Dylan Pegues
According to family friends, a high school student electrocuted after a car accident on Thursday has died.
After an automobile crash on Thursday, Dylan Pegues, 17, was airlifted to the Trauma and Burn ICU Center at UAB.
He hit a telephone pole, according to a GoFundMe page on Facebook. Medical staff believes that he was electrocuted by a downed power line when he stepped out of his car and went into cardiac arrest when he stepped out of the car, his mother wrote in a Facebook post to friends.
Paramedics found him without a pulse or heartbeat when they arrived at the scene, wrote his mother, Debbie Pegues. “The amazing medical team didn’t give up and God brought him back, but he was without oxygen for some time.”
Friends were sharing prayers and encouragement on Facebook throughout Sunday afternoon. As of Sunday evening, the GoFundMe page had raised $48,760 of its original $15,000 target.
Pegues Photography, Dylan’s photography business, is described on Dylan’s GoFundMe page as a creative and compassionate individual who started his own photography business. Besides photography, Dylan played soccer and ran track.
Dylan Pegues is 17 years old and is a senior at Auburn High School in Auburn, Alabama. Thursday, June 16th, Dylan was in a tragic and life threatening car accident. His car was ran off the road into a ditch that hit a telephone pole. Dylan endured an electricity shock throughout his body. He was life flighted to UAB where he is now in critical condition. Dylan and his family need all the love and support possible as he fights for his life.
For those of you who have not had the pleasure to meet this incredible boy. Dylan has always had such a bright spirit about him. Always smiling, always laughing. Dylan is the definition of kind. He always goes out of his way to show compassion and love to anyone and eryone. Dylan was born with the gift of creativity and talent. Even at such a young age Dylan took his passion photography and cretaed his own business, Pegues Photography. Dylan is the most hardworking and determined 17 year old you will ever meet.
